A&Z #573 - Atlas vs The 5.5lb Defibrillator Cheesesteak Challenge at Ciro's Pizzeria & Beerhouse in downtown San Diego, California (Day #12 / Challenge #17). Hey everybody!! It's still day #12 of our Southwest USA Tour and for this food challenge I'm at Ciro's Pizzeria & Beerhouse in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, California. I will be trying to complete their 5.5lb Defibrillator Cheesesteak Challenge and finish everything within the 45 minute time limit. Big thanks to the Ciro's staff for their hospitality and thanks to everyone who came up to watch and meet us that January evening!!

Ciro's 5.5lb Defibrillator Cheesesteak Challenge ($50):

The sandwich consists of 25oz of chopped ribeye cheesesteak meat plus 10oz each of pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. All that meat is topped with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions plus 4 different cheeses (Cheese Whiz, American, Provolone, and Swiss). There are 9 eggs served on top of all that inside three 9" long buns. Challengers have 45 minutes to finish the 5.5 lb challenge. Winners receive the meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Ciro's Wall of Fame. Be sure to call ahead and schedule your challenge in advance if interested because this isn't a highly publicized challenge they regularly offer.
